Have you spotted some brown patches on your lawn that make it look like there’s been a fire all over your grass? Well, there’s only one answer – chinch bugs! They can be persistent in taking over your yard.
Last year, I discovered that I had these pests in my yard by using a coffee can. I know it may sound unbelievable, but it really worked!
If you’re also having problems with these bugs, try this experiment. Next time you buy coffee, don’t throw away that can!
Prepare Everything You’ll Need Before The Test Starts
First, get a coffee can and head straight to your lawn. Push it three inches into the ground then pour some water inside it, either fresh or soapy, whichever you prefer. Wait fifteen or twenty minutes, and any chinch bugs will start running away from your lawn.
The best time to try this test is in the afternoon. You should avoid doing this experiment on rainy or cold days because chinch bugs disappear in these conditions, and you won’t be able to catch them in action!
If you’re wondering if one can is enough, it isn’t! One square foot requires five coffee cans, so you’ll have plenty of experiments ahead. I tested my whole yard and found an entire empire of chinch bugs! So, feel free to use as many cans as you need.
You’ll Be Surprised By The Coffee Can’s Results
I have a big lawn, and I tested it for three days. Considering how many bugs were eating my grass, I can’t believe I still had greenery. I was afraid I would never be able to restore my damaged grass, but I managed to succeed!
The coffee can turn out to be a perfect assistant. It helped me drive away every bug left in my lawn! You just need to be more persistent than the chinch bugs, and you’ll be able to get rid of them in just a few weeks.
If you discover them in time, you’ll have plenty of time to recover your grass. I know it sounds unbelievable, but you’ll need to try it yourself!
The coffee can turn out to be a big hit, right? It’s practical because you’ll be able to catch all of them even though they’re so hard to see!
I struggled for years until I learned about this experiment, and it really did help me a lot! So, if you spot brown patches on your lawn, test it right away. Trust me, you’ll be surprised by the results!
