Brand-New Hydrangea Variety To Plant In Your Garden This Fall For Stunning Lime-Green Flowers Next Summer

Sharing is caring!

Attention, a new variety of hydrangeas has come to town! Please welcome the next summer hit set to decorate every garden with its stunning appearance – cascade.

The first time I heard about this beautiful plant was at my best friend’s wedding. Everyone knows how much I’m obsessed with flowers, and that’s why she invited me bouquet shopping. The selection of flowers was much larger than we thought it would be!

But there was one that stood out, with its magical white, frilly petals! We just looked at each other and knew that it was the one.

The owner said that it’s a new variety of hydrangea called cascade (or its second name, fairytrail bride). This amazing plant won my heart right away, and I knew that I needed to plant it in my garden!

After the wedding was over and I finally got some free time, I went to the store and bought a cascade for myself. These amazing flowers turned out to be the easiest I’ve ever planted and grown!

But I think it wouldn’t have been that simple if I hadn’t found some amazing tricks that helped me set the perfect conditions for my cascade. Before I share these super easy tips, I wanted to show you how to plant your brand-new hydrangea variety this fall!

This Is the Easiest Planting Technique You Need To Use

Fall is the perfect time to plant cascade because conditions are ideal and the plant has enough time to establish its roots before the frosty winter arrives!

The best place to plant your cascade is in containers. Dig a hole two to three inches down, and make sure not to plant this shrub too deep, as that can lead to a terrible mistake!

When planting, ensure that the soil is well-drained and slightly acidic. The next thing you’re going to do is tamp down the soil to get rid of air pockets. Gently cover your little shrubs with soil and water them well! That’s all the work that needs to be done. Easy as pie, right?

Care Tips For Your Cascade That Will Bring You More Blooms Next Season

Cascade shrubs need your love and attention just like other plants! Even though they are a new category of hydrangeas, they’ve turned out to be some of the easiest to grow. Here are some care tips that will be useful!

  • Place the cascade in the sunniest part of your garden. These shrubs need at least four to six hours of sunlight during the growing season. But, if you live in areas where summer is unbearable, it’s best to give your cascade a little bit of shade.
  • Water your cascade well. Every time the soil feels dry to the touch, you’ll need to water this plant, which means you’ll be watering your cascade every seven to ten days, early in the morning! In the winter, you can reduce watering to every two to three weeks.
  • Give this shrub a little haircut. You don’t need to prune them all the time. Prune it once a year in the winter by cutting back each stem just above a pair of outward-facing buds.

Also make sure to trim damaged or withered leaves whenever they show on your cascade.

  • Keep an eye out for deer. Your cascade won’t have any trouble from pests or diseases, which is great, but when it comes to deer you should be on guard!

If you spot them near your garden, plant some deer-resistant plants. Zinnias, rosemary, verbena, and bee balm will keep your cascade safe through the season!

Planting cascades this fall definitely needs to be on your to-do list! With these super easy tricks, it will be a fun task to do. You’ll be able to plant them like a professional florist, and with these care tips, they will thrive for many years in your garden!

Guess what? These beautiful shrubs are already planted in my garden because I couldn’t wait another day. I can’t wait for spring to come and to see their lime-green flowers happily blooming! I’m sure that cascades will complement your garden style too.

Now, the best move you can make is to plant these flowers right away! Just make sure that they settle in before the first frost arrives in your garden so that next summer you’ll have the most gorgeous landscape.

Good luck!
