Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for flowers that bloom beautifully year after year with almost no effort? Then you’ll love perennials!

I used to stick with annuals, but five years ago I decided to shake things up. I discovered some gorgeous perennial plants, and guess what? They’re still thriving in my garden today. Honestly, growing perennials has been the most rewarding gardening decision I’ve ever made!

Curious about which perennials to choose? I’ve got you covered. Check out these stunning, fragrant options below—you’ll have a tough time picking just one!

#1 Shasta Daisy

Isn’t shasta daisy the cutest plant you’ve ever seen? Its adorable white flowers surround a sunny yellow center! Shasta daisy flowers will definitely bring those classy and elegant vibes into your garden.

Imagine how beautiful your yard will look covered in these amazing white flowers when summer arrives!

This plant can even tolerate part shaded areas in your garden, but it will be best if you provide it with full sun! Shasta daisies need at least six hours of sunlight to thrive. To keep this flower healthy, you’ll need to water it once a week, even though it’s a drought-tolerant plant!

#2 Echinacea

If you’ve already fallen in love with the shasta daisy’s appearance, but still want a more colorful plant, here’s a daisy look-alike that will blow you away – echinacea!

You can find these flowers in pink, orange, red, white, and yellow! Besides the coneflower’s amazing appearance, you can also use its flowers to make tea! Coneflower is a plant that can relieve pain, boost health, and reduce anxiety

Coneflower grows best in full sun, so six to eight hours of sun is a must if you want to keep this plant thriving! You’ll need to water it every day for a week, and later you can slowly reduce watering once it gets established.

#3 Peonies

Peonies have large flowers that you can find in pink, red and white! Their eye-catching flowers will make your garden a haven. Not to mention their stunning scent you’ll be able to smell from miles away!

Plant peonies in the sunniest part of your garden because eight hours of sun is necessary for these plants to bloom! The more sun they get, the bigger the flowers will be. Make sure to water them once every two weeks

#4 Lavender

When you work all day all you think about is your cozy bed and getting some sleep (been there, done that)! Sometimes, you won’t be able to spend hours in your garden taking care of your plants. That’s why you’ll need to try growing lavender.

Lavender is one of the easiest plants to grow, even if you are a beginner! This plant is trouble-free and it will thrive no matter what

As long as lavender gets full sun (eight to ten hours), it will happily bloom in your garden. The only thing that lavender doesn’t like is shade!

#5 Bumblebees

Irises are flowers with three petals that are blue, purple, yellow, pink, orange, and even black. Their colorful flowers will make your garden cheerful all-year round!

But did you know that bumblebees adore this plant? You’ll be able to attract these amazing pollinators by planting a few irises.

Placing your irises in full sun will be ideal! You can also plant them in partial shade, but they will bloom better if they receive more sunlight. Watering them once a week will be enough for these plants to thrive.

#6 Roses

Roses are the most elegant plants you can have in your garden. Their bushy look, with colorful petals, is perfect for planting near your fence.

Where should you plant roses? Well, they will need at least four hours of direct sunlight. So, make sure to provide their colorful blooms with plenty of sun! Water your roses once or twice per week at the beginning of planting. After they are established, you can slowly reduce this.

#7 Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas are popular shrubs that can be found in gardens all over the world! With their pink, blue, and white flowers, your garden will get the most beautiful landscape. Because of their colorful, elegant, and long-lasting blooms, they are perfect for borders in your garden.

Most hydrangeas thrive in part sun or part shade. It would be best if you could place them in an area where they will receive morning sunlight and afternoon shade! Watering them three times a week is a must

#8 Lamb’s Ear

If you’re looking for a plant that will be perfect for your groundcover collection, you should try growing lamb’s ear! Funny name, right?

This plant has silver-gray foliage and velvety leaves, which makes it a perfect plant for a groundcover. Lamb’s ear can also protect your other plants in the garden because deer can’t stand its aromatic foliage!

Place lamb’s ear in the full sun and water it only once a week. What I do is always check the soil before watering, if it’s dry then I’ll give them one good soak. This can prevent it from overwatering, which can lead to root problems!

#9 Hellebores

A plant that blooms in winter might seem impossible, but hellebores will convince you otherwise! This lovely flower with its green, white, pink, and plum colors will make your garden look amazing even if it’s covered in snow.

In winter, hellebores will require more sunlight. As for summer, they prefer more partial to full shade to thrive! For the best results, you’ll need to water them once a week.

#10 Lupine

Lupine is the flower that loves to brag, with its five foot tall blooms. You must admit that is one pretty impressive plant! Lupin comes in different ranges of colors such as purple, pink, white, and yellow.

If you want to keep its striking blooms beautiful you should place this flower in full sun. You’ll need to water lupine weekly!

Once it gets established, it’s practically maintenance-free—just give it full sun, and it’ll keep spreading and blooming year after year.

Yarrow is one of those tough-as-nails perennials that thrives on neglect and keeps coming back year after year.

If you want a low-maintenance, long-blooming, and drought-resistant plant, this one’s for you. It produces flat clusters of tiny flowers in shades of yellow, pink, white, red, and even purple, adding a pop of color that lasts from late spring to fall.

But it’s not just about the blooms—yarrow’s soft, feathery foliage adds texture and movement to any garden, making it a perfect filler plant. It also attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, making it a must-have for any wildlife-friendly garden.

Now all you have to do is wait for the perfect time to plant these lovely perennial flowers. Your garden will surely have the prettiest look next year! With these stunning plants, you’ll be able to attract pollinators and have a striking display every season.

I know it sounds unbelievable that there are actually flowers that will never leave your garden, but with these perennials everything is possible! They are also pretty low-maintenance so you won’t have to worry about whether something will happen to them!

You’ll know that every year, the same flowers you only plant once will start blooming again. Isn’t that the most fun and fascinating thing you’ve ever heard of?

#13 Daylily

Daylilies are the cheerful faces your garden needs—they come in radiant colors like orange, yellow, pink, and red!

Each bloom only lasts a single day, but don’t worry, because new ones quickly follow, giving your garden continuous beauty all summer long.

Daylilies thrive best in full sun but can handle a bit of shade too. Just be sure they’re getting at least six hours of sunlight per day.

Another amazing fact? These tough plants need watering only once a week, making them perfect for gardeners with a busy schedule or beginners!

#14 Black-Eyed Susan

If you’re looking for a perennial that’s easy-going and colorful, Black-Eyed Susans will steal your heart!

These lovely flowers, with their bright yellow petals and dark, button-like centers, can brighten any garden and attract a delightful array of butterflies and bees.

Black-Eyed Susans adore sunshine, so find them a spot in full sun to ensure they’re getting six to eight hours of daylight daily.

They’re drought-tolerant once established, so watering them every one to two weeks will be more than enough. This carefree plant will reward you with vibrant blooms year after year without much fuss!
