The secret? Ground covers! These shade-loving stars not only thrive in low light but also bring a treasure trove of benefits. Texture, color, effortless charm, you name it.

1. Bugleweed Makes A Beautiful Blanket For Shady Spaces

Ajuga aka bugleweed is a stunning ground cover that carpets the ground with vibrant foliage in shades of purple, bronze, and green, complemented by tall spikes of blue, purple, or white flowers in spring. 

This lovely perennial thrives in moist, well-drained soil and can handle partial to full shade. To keep it spreading, water consistently, but avoid overly wet conditions. It’s perfect for hardiness zones 3-9.

This plant loves moist, well-drained soil and best of all, can tolerate wet feet. The Creeping Jenny flourishes in full or partial shade and is ideal for zones 3-9.
