Since we’ve welcomed another beautiful season, it’s time to transform your containers from summer to fall! Autumn is the coziest season, where you can relax, enjoy your favorite TV shows, and cook delicious meals from your summer harvest. Isn’t that awesome?
Do you know what’s even better than that? Bringing colorful flowers with attractive planters into your garden! That’s right, there’s still some planting to do (and you were thinking we were done with it).
As a gardening geek, I can’t start fall without creating a charming landscape full of flowers! At this time of year, I immediately start my garden makeover with the dozens of planters I’ve got in my garage.
If you’re thinking about transforming your backyard or even your indoor space, you’re in the right place. These planter ideas I’m going to share will be a big hit this fall!
#1 If You Want A Long-Lasting Look Try This
I know that this will be everyone’s cup of tea! Who doesn’t want a planter full of flowers that will last for a very long time? You can achieve this with amazing dried flowers that will stay in the pot throughout the fall.
Decorating your garden with these blossoms won’t go out of style anytime soon!
You can either buy dried flowers or have a little fun drying them yourself! Start with lavender, sunflowers, hydrangeas, or lotuses. You can even mix them all together for a more attractive arrangement!
If you’re unfamiliar with how to dry flowers, here’s what you need to do. Hang them upside down in a dark, well-ventilated place, and voila! After two to three weeks, they’ll be ready to place in your planters.
#2 Create Spectacular Decorations For The Upcoming Spooky Season
As Halloween is part of the fall season, you can’t miss out on decorating your garden this October!
Every year, my yard is filled with Halloween decorations, from pumpkins and fake spiders to ghosts made out of sheets. Last season, I discovered some cool plants that turned out to be perfect for my spooky planters!
You can use black coral elephant ear, doll’s eye, ghost plant, Venus flytrap, or bat flowers. These plants are truly eye-catching, and with them, you could easily win the competition for the creepiest garden this Halloween!
You can also find some spooktacular planters for these amazing flowers in the shape of pumpkins and black cats, or with some cool inscriptions.
#3 Entertain Your Kids With This Super Fun Planter
If you want to have fun with your kids, the best thing to do is planting! It’s also a great way to introduce your children to the gardening world, which they will love! Now, I won’t recommend buying planters for this. Instead, I’d like to give you some amazing ideas for making them.
As for materials, you’ll probably already have them at home. First, we’re going to start with mini LEGO planters!
Let them arrange the planters however they want, pour soil in, and add some tiny plants. You can use cacti (it’s best to plant them yourself, so they won’t harm themselves), Swiss chard, or African violets.
For the next idea, you’ll need a pair of rubber garden boots in all colors! Let them plant their favorite flowers and place them in your garden. My kids are obsessed with this one, they spend every day in the yard playing around with those funny planters!
You can also give them colored pencils and let their imagination run wild. They will enjoy drawing on the planters! Who knows, maybe they have some hidden talent and will become painters!
#4 For A Cozy Vibe, Sneak These Lovely Flower Pots Indoors
If you live in an area where fall feels a little bit colder, it’s best to place planters indoors! They will fit perfectly in your home and become cozy decorations. I already have too many of them in my house!
Start decorating your home with snake plants, crotons, calatheas, dracaenas, or anthuriums. These plants offer many benefits, such as improving air quality and productivity, and reducing anxiety! Isn’t that great?
You can set up a few shelves and place some pretty planters on them. Use different sizes, shapes, and colors to make it more fun!
#5 Transform Your Porch With Popular Fall Colors
Planting flowers in fall colors is a must to start this beautiful season! Here are some classics that you can place in your planters. You should choose dahlias, lantanas, butterfly weed, California poppies, marigolds, petunias, and blanket flowers.
Since these flowers already come in colorful shades, it’s best to stick with simple planters, such as white ones. Place them on your porch and enjoy the view every time you step outside.
Have you already chosen something fun from today’s list that you’re going to start with first? All of these five planter ideas will definitely fit perfectly in any garden! You’ll be able to welcome the new season with your adorable planters and even more beautiful flowers.
These ideas transformed my garden in the best way possible, making it unique, especially for Halloween! The plants and decorations on this will last throughout the fall, so you’ll be able to enjoy your spectacular landscape for three more months.
Now, if you’re ready, jump to it right away! Prepare your garden for some attention-grabbing moments and have fun during your colorful autumn days.
