Who wouldn’t love to start the day with the sweet melodies of beautiful birds?
I’m a big bird lover. As a kid, I had a few parrots, and ever since then I’ve always wanted more. That dream actually came true a few years ago! After moving from my parents’ house, I ended up with a pretty big garden.
There was enough space for all kinds of berries and fruit trees that attract different species of birds!
And it’s been the coolest thing I’ve ever done. I have visits from birds all season long. If you also want to have them around your yard, I can’t wait to tell you all about these amazing plants!
Grow All Kinds Of Berries And Expect Over 40 Species Of Birds
Let’s start with the berries! Not only will they fit perfectly in your garden, but they will also attract all different kinds of birds. Forty species may land in your yard, rest, and have a good feast!
You can try planting blackberries, dogwood, elderberries, holly, red mulberries, and American pokeweed. These berries will be the perfect snack for the birds! You can even share a meal with them. Everything is on the menu except pokeweed, which is toxic, so avoid it!
Plant as many as you can! I have around ten fully grown berry bushes in my backyard, so every visiting bird has plenty to enjoy. Isn’t that awesome?
Enjoy The Cute Sight Of Birds Eating Fruit From Your Trees
We’re moving on to juicy fruits that you can add to the birds’ menu! You can try growing apples, cherries, plums, pears, and peaches. If you have any of these fruits in your garden, birds will be obsessed!
I’ve always loved having fruits in my yard. They provide a great way to cool down in the summer after finishing my gardening tasks. One time, while I was planting, I noticed something on my apple tree. And there they were, three little birdies sharing a meal.
It was such a cute scene to see them together on the branch, enjoying the apple. If you have space left in your garden, plant a few fruit trees near the berries! That way, you’ll have enough food for everyone. Boy, your garden will become like a five-star hotel for them!
Add Delicious Berries And Fruits To Your Bird Feeder
Why not gather berries and fruits from the tree and put them in a bird feeder? If you don’t have one, buy it or craft it from scratch! You can also decorate it a little, paint it, or add some cute stickers.
This way, birds will get to the food easily, especially if you chop it for them! Who knows, maybe you’ll even be able to tame them.
I DIY’d my bird feeder last season, and after I placed it in my yard, they kept visiting daily! So get your bird feeder as soon as possible, and you’ll enjoy their sweet melodies every day.
Are you ready to welcome all these birds to your garden? You’ll need to be a great host, so try growing lots of fruits and berries!
I spotted a few birds that became regular guests, I even named them! Perhaps you’ll be able to attract your favorite species!
Good luck!
