Sharing is caring!

Growing plants indoors brings a lot of fun and also some good benefits! They can boost your mood, reduce stress, and help improve air quality! Indoor plants are also a great option if you work from home because they can increase your productivity.

Houseplants hold a special place in my heart! The very first plants I grew were snake plants, peace lilies, and English ivy. As time passed, I kept buying more, and now my house gives off massive jungle vibes!

I have at least a few of them flourishing in every corner of my home, and I think I could perhaps grow even more. Now you are probably wondering how I manage to keep every plant in my home thriving and provide them with everything they need.

Does it take too much time? Absolutely not! Luckily, I found some super easy tips that helped me a lot. Believe it or not, all of these tricks I discovered include some items that every house has! I was fascinated by how my indoor plants started thriving with just a few household items.

If you also have struggles with this, I’ve got your back! You probably have everything from this amazing list I’m going to share with you, so let’s not waste any more time and start right away.

#1 Climbing Plants Will Need One Special Item From Your Kitchen

If you are one of those people who loves to eat noodles then this trick is made for you! Next time you prepare this meal make sure not to throw those chopsticks away. They can make a perfect trellis for your climbing plants!

Once your climbing plants start growing tall, they will need something to support their big leaves. Now let’s take a look at the easiest way to use chopsticks as a trellis.

First you’ll need to clean them so there’s no food left. Bury them into the soil, secure your plant’s stalk with a string, and you’re done!

#2 Keep Your Tropical Houseplants Happy With A Room Humidifier

If you own a room humidifier, then your tropical plants are lucky! Besides helping you breathe easier if you catch a cold when winter arrives, this amazing device can be beneficial to your plants, too.

Tropical plants need at least 40% to 60% humidity to thrive, and humidifiers can easily provide these conditions. Be careful when placing a humidifier as you don’t want it too close to the plants. Also, make sure that the device is plugged in for at least three to five hours!

#3 Your Cosmetic Brushes Are Excellent For Cleaning Dust Off The Leaves

If you’re into makeup, then you probably have lots of cosmetic brushes. Did you know that your plants (especially hairy ones) need a little brush, too?

Plants with deep grooves in their leaves need your help to remove dust clumps from the hairs on their stems. Don’t use wet brushes or dust while the plants are watered! It will be harder and you won’t be able to do it properly.

#4 If Your Indoor Plants Are Lacking Some Sunlight, Try This

Providing your indoor plants with light when winter arrives can be challenging! If you live in an area where it’s cloudy all the time and your window doesn’t face south, it can be a big problem.

Luckily, there’s one item that will work amazingly—a desk lamp! Place desk lamps directly over your plants and they will receive enough light to thrive. Isn’t that amazing?

You should start trying these amazing ideas on your indoor plants now! Some of these items might be unexpected and seem like they won’t work, but they are actually a golden ticket to thriving indoor plants.

Since you probably have all of these items inside your house, keeping your plants flourishing will be free! You don’t need to buy any expensive devices that probably won’t do the job as well as these will. I have only one question for you: which item will you be trying first?
