4 Easy Methods You’ll Need To Use If Cockroaches Start Invading Your Home

Sharing is caring!

Have you noticed a musty odor and brown insects wandering around your home? Boy, you might be dealing with the most persistent pests – cockroaches!

I just got a shiver down my spine, remembering the first (and last) time I had them in my house! A few years ago, I spotted a couple of cockroaches. As they were fast-moving, I couldn’t catch them, so I left them there. I thought they were just passing by and wouldn’t stay in my home.

Little did I know, in a few days, cockroaches had taken over my entire house! What started as a couple of them transformed into an army marching around my living room overnight.

I ran to my garden, but then I stopped and thought, “Wait a minute. Why shouldn’t I try finding some tricks to drive them away?” Luckily, in a very short time, I discovered excellent methods that worked and the cockroaches never returned to my home!

Bear in mind that these tricks are pretty easy to do, and in a few days you’ll be able to remove cockroaches from your house, too!

#1 Save Lemon Juice For One Little Trick

The first trick you are going to start with is lemon juice! For those of you who love the bitter taste of lemon, I know it feels like you’re wasting your favorite drink, but it’s worth it.

Lemon contains natural anti-pathogens that drive these pests away! You’ll only need to put a few tablespoons of lemon juice with a quarter cup of water and mix it. One solution is to spray the affected areas with it or clean the floor with a mop!

#2 This DIY Might Save Your House

Is peppermint the best-smelling herb? Yes. Will it remove cockroaches from your home? Absolutely! All you need to do is DIY one, and here’s the best way to make it. If you have peppermint in your garden, it’s a plus! The fresher this herb is, the better.

Harvest a few leaves, crush them in a glass jar, and add a few tablespoons of olive oil. Close the jar, shake it, and store it for three days. After that, strain it into a spray bottle and feel free to use it wherever you think cockroaches are moving!

#3 Make Sure To Fix Moist Areas

If you have leaky pipes or other sources of moisture, you’ll need to fix them right away! Cockroaches enjoy being in areas where it’s moist, it’s how they actually survive

This was one of the reasons why they invaded my home! I had a problem with water leakage, which was like a magnet to cockroaches.

Since I had no idea how to fix it, I called plumbers from my area, and they did all the work. After the leaking water pipe was fixed, there were no signs of them!

#4 Be Careful While Making Dinner

Cockroaches love any kind of food, and even small crumbs are enough for them. That’s why you’ll need to always check if there are any kitchen scraps left behind and vacuum them up!

Also, make sure not to leave dishes in your sink. Just keep your house clean and tidy, and there won’t be any cockroaches wandering around!

Is It Possible To Remove Cockroaches From Your Garden?

There is a possibility that cockroaches might also try to invade your garden! Don’t worry, it won’t be the end of the world, because I’ve also got outdoor tricks for repelling them.

First, you’ll need to mow regularly and take care of the garbage! It’s the same as with your house, keeping your garden clean will drive them away. Now, I think that these tricks will be your favorite ones!

There are a few flowers you can grow because cockroaches don’t like their scent at all. By planting catnip, rosemary, mint, or chrysanthemums, you’ll be able to remove them from your garden!

With these tips and tricks, you’ll be able to drive cockroaches away for good. And the best part about these methods is that they are natural and proven to work perfectly!

I didn’t want to use any harsh chemicals in my home or garden, and I was thrilled after finding these hidden gems. Now I think it’s time to try these tips in your house!
