If You Plant Garlic In This Part Of Your Garden, You’ll Be Rewarded With The Healthiest Crops In Summer

Sharing is caring!

Garlic is a veggie that repels pests from gardens, benefits your health, and adds delicious flavor to meals. Don’t even think about doubting whether to plant it in your garden! This veggie is important and every household should have it.

Why spend money on ridiculously priced, store-bought garlic that isn’t even tasty when you can plant it and get it fresh from your garden?

I’ve been growing garlic for almost a decade. Every time I’m sick or my plants get attacked by pests, garlic is there to save the day. Let me tell you that planting and growing this crop is actually very easy… Unless you plant it in the wrong place!

Then you can say goodbye to harvesting because there won’t be any! Luckily, I’ve got some awesome tips and tricks on how to put this veggie in the right spot and make it thrive when summer comes. Now let’s see which place in your yard will be covered with garlic!

Plant Garlic In The Sunniest Part Of Your Yard For The Best Results

Before we start, you’ll need to learn when you should start planting garlic. The best time to do it is usually about thirty days before the first frost hits the garden.

If you plant them too late or early, the plant won’t have enough time to establish, which will lead to a poor harvest! I always plant in October, and it works out perfectly for my garlic.

Now let’s talk about the most important role in garlic growth. Where should you plant it? Well, you’ll need to plant it in the brightest part of your garden because garlic loves the sun.

Do you know what garlic likes even more? Well-drained soil! By providing your garlic with these two powerful conditions, you’ll make it thrive like crazy.

For the best results, garlic needs at least six to eight hours of sunlight! Even a little shade can damage your crops by making them smaller. Partial shade might also be an open invitation to pests to feed on your crops, leaving you with nothing!

Now for the final part of planting. Amend your soil a little bit, plant the cloves one or two inches deep, and space them six inches apart. That’s all the work you’ll need to do to make your garlic thrive when summer comes!

This Is The Best Trick To Protect Your Garlic In The Upcoming Winter

Garlic might do well in winter, but it will benefit from some extra protection, especially if you live in a colder area where winter freezes everything. Taking care of your garlic as the colder months arrive will make it stronger and provide you with plenty of crops!

A must for keeping your veggies safe during winter is mulch! Cover your garlic with a few layers of organic mulch, such as straw, shredded leaves, or pine needles. This will help it stay warm and prevent the soil from freezing.

Even if you live in warmer climates, you can use mulch no matter the weather. It’s great for your garlic because it adds nutrients, keeps veggies weed-free, and helps retain moisture!

Now that you know where to plant garlic, you’ll be amazed by the results when harvesting in the summer! These tricks will help you find the best spot for your garlic, and under these conditions, it will thrive and provide you with plenty of delicious cloves.

You’ll also be able to protect garlic from all the coldness that comes with winter. After all these years, I never change the way I plant my garlic because planting it like this has proven to be the best method! I always end up with fantastic harvests.

Well, I think you and I have some work to do, so I don’t want to keep you any longer. Since Halloween is around the corner, you should hurry with planting; something needs to scare those vampires away!

Good luck!
