Many gardens in Georgia begin showing this change by late summer. Coneflowers are usually trying to tell you something.
Knowing what those signs mean can make all the difference.
1. Summer Heat Can Slow Down Flowering

Scorching temperatures hit coneflowers harder than most gardeners expect. When daytime temps climb past 90 degrees for weeks at a stretch, flowering slows down noticeably.
Plants shift their energy away from blooming and focus instead on basic survival.
